Why this exists

Written for Hamilton County, Not for Everywhere

Most of what gets written about home EV charging is either a manufacturer's brochure or a national article that ignores where you actually live. This is neither. What goes here are the explanations we end up giving on the phone anyway: how to tell whether your panel has headroom, why a permit matters to your rebate claim, what actually determines charge speed, and what the same job costs in a Fishers attached garage versus a detached one out by Geist. If a question comes up often enough on a Hamilton County site visit, it ends up written down here.

Would Rather Just Ask Someone?

Reading about load calculations is a poor substitute for someone opening your panel and telling you what is in there. If you have a specific question about your own house, the phone is faster than any article here.
